Is there a region in any class worse than 1A 7? Other than Addison, Meek and Hackleburg who is the fourth playoff worthy team? Vina, Shoals Christian, Cherokee, Phillips and Waterloo are all pretty weak and don't pose much of a threat until they play each other. Just curious, any regions weaker? |

That?s not a terrible region. They just have a bad four seed. The top 3 are all pretty solid.

I was thinking Region 3 is much worse than region 7.
1 decent team in Linden. |

7A Region 4 would be good if it were 6A or 5A.
It's not bad football. A few of the teams would kill lower level competition across state, but it's just not very good for 7A. Every year the 3rd and 4th team go to Birmingham to be sacrificed, and the 1st/2nd seeds get "upset" by whichever Birmingham teams are a little worse than Thompson the last 5-6 years, and Hoover the 5-6 years before that. |

As a Meek alum and supporter we may actually be bad this year. Our Offense is really bad right now. So it?s probably just Hackleburg and Addison at the top, if Phillips gives us a game this upcoming Friday it may turn into a question of whether we?re 3rd or 4th. |

I think there is a clear gap between Meek and the other two, but Meek is awful like others. Or at least that is what I think at this point. I tend to agree that if Phillips pushes you, then I will have to rethink my position.

I don't even think they'd do well in 6A. Just this season Hartselle has smoked Austin. Muscle Shoals waxed Florence. Albertville has lost to Arab and Boaz. Even if they could make a 6A playoff spot i cant see these teams, even a Bob Jones or James Clemens, hanging with a Clay or Parker. I don't know what it is but the bigger schools in the far north just haven't done well in quite some time with an exception here and there. |

Class 5A Region 3 is definitely the worse in the state. This is the same region that had to coin flip for two 2-8 to get in the playoffs. Dropping Marbury and adding Northside has help but its still one of the worse. |

For the last several years, whichever 5A region Russellville is in has gone 1-3 in the first round and only two teams (Jasper in 2018, Russellville in 2020) have reached the third round. |

I came to say the same thing. Montevallo has fallen off a cliff since moving to 5A which hurts region strength a lot. Demopolis isn't the same as they've been in the past, but still good enough to handle the region (we'll see if Northside could pull off an upset this year, they've been really strong so far). Selma is hit or miss as well - some years they're a playoff team and other years they are the worst team in the region. This is one of those years unfortunately. Shelby County's been building for a while and finally has a big group of seniors so we'll see if the Wildcats can make some noise and pull off an upset in the playoffs |

As a Brewer alumni I miss that region. At least in that region they could at least compete for a playoff spot. |
