Up until last week, North Sand Mtn was allowing just over 3 points a game. Then they got thumped by region foe Pleasant Valley. This week they play Pisgah, who already be Pleasant Valley. If NSM can beat Pisgah, that creates one of those oddball 3-way ties and invokes the tie-breaker scenarios that go down to the 9th option or something like that.

3A
In all classifications, there are three teams who are in the top ten in scoring offense and defense.
1. Williamson - Obvious. They scored 100 in a game. But their D is great also.
2. Luverne - Obvious. They've been scary for weeks on both sides of the ball.

Do you know the other team without looking it up? I didn't. It's Southside Selma. They're 8-0, 7th in scoring, and 5th in scoring defense. And they're playing Thorsby, another 8-0 team, for the region title.

4A
Handley vs BT Washington is for the region title. Both are 6-0 in region.

Plainview vs Madison Academy is for the region title. Both are 6-0 in region.

Those four games catch my eye. What game are you looking forward to?

Hartselle hosting Muscle Shoals. Both undefeated. Winner takes region.

I was referring to rankings for ALL classifications grouped together. Only the three listed are top ten in O and D.

I'll admit to being biased, but I think that Russellville-Priceville game for 2nd in 5A Region 7 could be interesting. Don't look now, but the Golden Tiger offense has started clicking after a slow start. Granted, some of that is competition, but still. And Priceville has been a very pleasant surprise this season, and their defense has been pretty stout all season long. Should be a fun matchup.

Wadley vs Winterboro - is Winterboro a true title contender? We will find out

Fairhope vs Baker- two really good teams with Baker playing for the region title.

Muscle Shoals vs Hartselle - Muscle Shoals I think is the better team but Hartselle is tough to beat at home. Someone's 0 will go in this game.

Cherokee County vs Ashville- Can Ashville beat the two time runner up Cherokee County.Ashville will try to make a case that they deserve to be mentioned in teams vying for the 4A North spot of the title game. Toughest region in 4A IMO.

Fyffe vs Geraldine - The rivalry.Nothing more needs to be said.

Thorsby vs Southside Selma- Will Thorsby prove they belong in the discussion for teams in 3A south come playoff time.
Southside has the better team and players but that doesn't always mean a win. Should be a great game.

Coosa Christian vs Tuscaloosa Academy - Cossa Christian will be trying to make a statement in this game. Coosa Christian is is on a mission but be careful the Knights are very tough at home.

Luverne vs Goshen - Can Goshen keep pace with the athletes that Luverne have.
I don't think so but we shall see.

Those are just a few that I will be keeping an eye on. Plenty more so if I didn't mention doesn't mean I don't think it will be a great game just to many to list.
Should be a fun two days of high school football.
