There are strange things afoot in Elberta. I mean the program is essentially still a JV program and is only two years into its existence. They go 5-11 (granted playing schools that are likely a smaller classification than they will be) and you ask the coach to resign? Seems fishy.

Sand Rock?s Steven Chesnut has resigned from his head football coaching duties, but remains on staff as a teacher.
In five seasons, Chesnut had an overall record of 32-22, including a pair of Class 2A playoff appearances in 2016 and 2017. Both of those seasons Sand Rock went 9-3. The Wildcats finished the 2019 season at 4-6, including a 38-19 loss to Westbrook Christian last Friday. You can read more on Chesnut?s decision to resign as head football coach in the Nov. 13 edition of The Cherokee County Herald. Photo by Shannon Fagan.

Seibert is a very good coach, too. Pretty dumb move by the school's leadership.

Southside Gadsden Coach Ron Daugherty was relieved of his coaching duties at the Etowah County Board of Education meeting Tuesday night. He will stay on as teacher though.
?I was asked to resign, but I didn?t want the kids to think I quit on them during tough times,? Daugherty said. ?I hope they know that I never would.?

Anybody hearing anything on the Hartselle job? The application is open online right now. I have talked to some friends about their thoughts on it. Some believe the current DC will be promoted.

No public announcement as of yet, but word is that Shades Valley coach David Partridge has resigned. And today I found a job opening for head coach. Also interesting that the Huffman job came open last week, Partridges alma mater.
