After reading the release, it?s reassuring to see the school system get behind and defend their student athlete. I?m actually siding with PC on this. I think the AHSAA got this one wrong.
I'm with Pell City on this but I'll be shocked if AHSAA reverses. We've seen these appeals dozens of times over the years and AHSAA never wants to hear them. They tend to double down on their stance no matter how archaic or random the rule is.

At some point the AHSAA should be held accountable. I?m under the impression that they think they?re all high and mighty and what they say goes regardless of how right or wrong it is. At some point a court stepping in will have to trump some of these bizarre AHSAA sanctions. Just my opinion.

I have a bit of a different take on this. From the way the rule is written, it does appear to have been violated. That being said, do I think it's a stupid rule that should allow for some interpretation and some looking into the gray? Sure. But the AHSAA rarely ever does that.
