There was a ton of scores I was not expecting and changes the perception of a lot of teams. First off, Jacksonville beating the brakes off of Leeds. Man that?s insane, double digit underdogs demolishing the on-paper superior opponent doesn?t happen too often, but it sure did here. Daphne?s double touchdown victory over Baker says a lot too, especially for region positioning, as I would say they are in prime position to host a playoff game now with this victory. Similar story with Theodore, with beating Saint Pauls and Spanish Fort now, they should be in position to be a 2 seed barring some crazy upset. Wicksburg might be a threat in 3A after a close game with Montgomery Academy and a pummeling of Houston Academy, would be fun to watch them maybe go on a playoff run if possible. Bayside Academy?s 42 point drubbing of Flomaton? That?s a huge boost for Bayside, and it will be fun to see what they can do. Is it time we start talking about Cold Springs? That offense is pretty nuts, and the rest of their schedule is somewhat favorable, so I could see this team winning 7-8 games. That?s all I have to say right now, but this week was so bizarre.

Wicksburg has a ton of seniors and a surprising amount of speed. From what I've read, they had some bad fumbles against Providence Christian or else they'd have won. Their Hudl recap against MA was sack after sack after sack, just living in MA's backfield.

Edit: Adding onto this, Wicksburg vs. Houston Academy is a huge rivalry for Wicksburg.

Florence beating undefeated Bob Jones 24 - 6 is also a big upset. As is Mountain Brook beating Oxford 42-14. I could see MB winning but not by that margin. Mountain Brook at undefeated but untested Homewood this week should be a good one.

Other surprises.
Unbeaten Oak Grove 17, West Blocton 18
Sweet Water 21, McIntosh 26 - what has happened to Sweet Water?
