 High School Bio:

            Fayette County High (Fayette) Left Halfback for two years on the varsity football team. He specialized in running and pass receiving. He rushed for 763 yards on 71 carries for a 10.9 yards per carry average and scored 9 touchdowns. He was named All West Alabama Conference. He also participated in Track and Baseball.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
