Played Left Halfback for W.P. Davidson High School, Mobile. In his three years of varsity football, he has averaged four yards per carry. Athletic honors which he has received are the Optimist Club Player of the Week, and was voted Outstanding Back for his school in 1962-63. He also participated in basketball and track.
