 High School Bio:

            Gaines scored 119 points, gained 1,300 yards rushing, and completed 14 out of 16 pass attempts. His specialty was spinning and catching passes. Athletic honors include All-County, All-Conference, Second Team All-State, and the Football Award of his school. He also participated in basketball and track.




Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

In 1970 Monroe Academy won the first championship in the A.I.S.A. by defeating Lowndes Academy 6-0.
