Wade played varsity football four seasons at Parrish and was captain of his team. His football statistics included 632 yards rushing on 129 carries and on defense he registered 101 tackles, 37 assists, punted for a 36.5 average. He was named All-County two years, All-Conference two years, received honorable mention All-State and was selected Most Valuable Player at Parrish twice.
Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
The Tuscaloosa Black Bears were considered one of the best programs in the nation from 1925-1931. Their record over that span was an amazing 61-0-3.
