            Longs specialty was kick-off, and gained over 1,000 yards rushing. Bubba was All-State (two years), Honorable Mention All-American, All-County (two years), Best Back (two years), Post-Herald Back of the Week twice. He participated in baseball and track. He was All-Area, Most Valuable Player (two years), and All-County (two years) in basketball.




Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Homewood defeated Benjamin Russell in five overtimes during the Class 5A Super Six state championship game in 2000.
