 High School Bio:

            Meharg played at the tight-end position. He played football for three years at Arab. He played defensive end and this was his specialty. He made one touchdown, received 20 passes, eleven completed, for 175 yards. He was All-County Defensive End; Arabs Best Defensive Linesman. He also played basketball and baseball.

Foley outscored their opponents 433-6 in 1961. The Lions were named state champions by the Alabama Sports Writers Association that season.
