Abbeville High School Fullback was Captain of his team. He was voted to: Wiregrass Conference All-Star Team; All-State; Most Valuable Player in Peanut Bowl; Most Valuable Player on Abbeville Team(e1ected by players); Most Valuable Back. He also participated in track. He played three years of football. In nine games he made 1,811 yards rushing, averaging 7.8 per carry. He scored 21 touchdowns plus three extra points (129 points).
