Woodruff attended Aliceville High School and played safety as well as quarterback. His specialty was punting and place holder, He was voted Most Valuable Player on high school team; All-Conference for two years; All-State for two years; He has played football for four years. Glenn also played basketball and baseball. In his senior year he made thirteen touchdowns passing and five by running. He had 92 passing attempts with 56 completions. His total offense record was 1,090.
