            Thomas played four years of varsity football. He was All-State and All-TVC for two years; All-City for three years In the past two years at Butler he has gained over 1,950 yards and has run 25 touchdowns.

In 1970 Monroe Academy won the first championship in the A.I.S.A. by defeating Lowndes Academy 6-0.
