Trammell was All-County; All Sectional in football and basketball; Honorable Mention All-State, Captain of his team for football and basketball. He played baseball, too and ran track. He played three years of varsity football. His specialty was punting and kicking extra points. Trammell threw 22 touchdown passes and ran for nine more as a senior at Cherokee County. He also played defense where he intercepted 12 passes. He punted and kicked extra points.
