 High School Bio:

            Hackleburg High School tailback was All-State two years; Most Valuable Player in Conference; Captain of his team. He played four years of varsity football. Jerry played baseball and ran track. His specialized in "Punt Return, Receiver and Running Back". He scored 27 touchdowns and averaged 121 yards rushing during his senior season playing halfback at Hackleburg.

The first football game played by a high school team in Alabama was in 1892 when Central Birmingham (Phillips) lost to Alabama 56-0 on November 11.
