Sidney Lanier quarterback played two years of varsity football and was Captain of his team in 1968. He was All-American; Coach & Athlete Magazine- Honorable Mention; Scholastic Coach Magazine- All-American; All-Southern; U.P.I. Most Valuable Player; Birmingham News All-State; Birmingham All-State Most Valuable Player Award. Jeff played baseball, also. His specialty was holding for extra points. In 1968 he had 135 passes for 1,085 yards and 8 touchdowns and ran 86 times and gained 542 yards for five touchdowns.

Collinsville completed the 1931 season with a record of 1-4-5. The five ties will forever be a state record since all games are now decided by overtime.
