Fullback from Huntsville High School. He was All-City; All Tennessee Valley Conference; All-State; All-Southern; Honorable Mention All-American. He ran track, also. He will attend Auburn University this fall. He played three years of varsity football and his specialty was Fullback. His record shows 1,005 yards gained. He helped lead them to the state championship game as a senior.
Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
