 High School Bio:

            Burleson played end and linebacker on his high school varsity team 4 years and was captain 2 years. He averaged 20 tackles per game and 8 touchdowns per season. He was All-State, All-Conference, and All-County in football, in addition to playing basketball, baseball and participating in track.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
