            Turner played varsity football 4 years, serving as game captain 4 times. He was named to All-State 1st team, All-Border Conference, Teams Most Valuable Player, Most Valuable Lineman, and Most Valuable Defensive Lineman. He specialized in penetrating line, blocking punts, and defense.
