            Langner was on the track team-and played football three years, serving as captain one year. His specialty was running back. He was All-Metro, All-City, Mid-State, All-State 2nd Team, and was listed in Alabama High School Whos Who. His record last season was 17 touchdowns and 1,100 yards on ground.

Alabama School for the Deaf won Deaf School National Championships in 1971, 1987, 1991, 2000, 2001 and 2002.
