 High School Bio:

            Played varsity football three years; also ran track. Earned All-County and All-Tennessee Valley Conference honors. Specialty was punting, averaged 40 yards per kick last season. Caught 7 touchdown passes during senior year. In junior year, played at tailback, caught 9 of 11 passes for 270 yards.

The first football game played by a high school team in Alabama was in 1892 when Central Birmingham (Phillips) lost to Alabama 56-0 on November 11.
