Played running back and defensive end on the varsity football team four years; was captain his senior year. Also played basketball, baseball, ,and ran track. Earned All-State, Honorable Mention All-American, and W.A.C. All-Conference honors and was selected Class 2A Most Valuable Player. In his senior year, carried ball 148 times, gained 1,405 yards.
