 High School Bio:

            Vacarella rushed for 545 yards and six touchdowns as a senior. He also completed 75 of 159 passes for 1,248 yards and 12 scores with only five interceptions. He kicked 13 extra points and had a punting average of 40.3 yards per punt. Played quarterback on the varsity football team three years and was captain two years. Earned All-City, All-State, All-Metro, All-American, Super All-State, and All-South Team honors.

Homewood defeated Benjamin Russell in five overtimes during the Class 5A Super Six state championship game in 2000.
