 High School Bio:

            Played running back on the varsity football squad for three seasons at Phillips. He was also a team captain as a senior. Earned team MVP honors, All-City, All-Metro and was selected to the All-State squad. He scored 90 points as a senior.




Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
