            Played offensive and defensive tackle on varsity team for 4 years and was captain. Earned All-SAC, Honorable Mention All SAC, All-State Honorable Mention, Most Valuable Player 6 times, Permanent Captain and Most Valuable Player. Led in tackles 9 games in last 2 years.

Foley outscored their opponents 433-6 in 1961. The Lions were named state champions by the Alabama Sports Writers Association that season.
