            Played fullback and linebacker on varsity team for 4 years and was captain of team. Earned All-Shoals Area, All-County, All-State, Second Team All-American, leading scorer and leading rusher on team. Average above 23 carries a game and 187 yards a game. Had 2,268 yards and 34 touchdowns of the year in 14 games.




Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

The Tuscaloosa Black Bears were considered one of the best programs in the nation from 1925-1931. Their record over that span was an amazing 61-0-3.
