            Played linebacker on varsity for 3 years and was captain. Earned All Bi-City, All-State, All Bi-City Ledger Enquirer, Outstanding Defensive Lineman, and Team ~NP. Averaged 9 tackles per game leading team in tackles for two years.

Foley outscored their opponents 433-6 in 1961. The Lions were named state champions by the Alabama Sports Writers Association that season.
