 High School Bio:

            Coffey gained over 1,000 yards in each of his last three seasons as a starter at Colbert County. As a senior he ran for 1,304 yards in 168 carries although slowed by an ankle injury for several games. Earned All Area - 3 years, All State 3A 1st Team, Super All-State, Ten Most Wanted, .All State Football-Birmingham-Post Herald, Montgomery Player of the Year by the Advertiser, and MVP of team.

Hazlewood won five consecutive state championships from 1988-1992. During this span the Golden Bears won 29 playoff games in a row.
