            Played running back on varsity for 3 years and was captain. Earned All County, Honorable Mention, All State, Post-Herald Player of the Week, and Bessemer Area Quarterback Club Player of the Week. Teams Most Valuable Back and Most Valuable Player. Rushed for 1497 yards as a senior.

Collinsville completed the 1931 season with a record of 1-4-5. The five ties will forever be a state record since all games are now decided by overtime.
