            Played wide receiver on varsity for 3 years. Earned All Independent, All County, Post-Herald Player of Week, team leading scorer with 12 touchdowns, and voted Most Valuable Receiver. Had 32 reception, 45 attempted for 16.8 average for 515 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
