 High School Bio:

            Played halfback on varsity for 3 years and was captain in 1978. Earned MVP (2 years), Most Valuable Offensive Back; All-Area team, All-Area MVP; All-TVC team (2 years), and All-State. Had 9 touchdowns, 2 pass receptions for 82 yards, 13 punt returns, 61 tackles, 35 assists, and 8 interceptions in 8 games.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
