Neal was Geneva Countys second leading tackler as a senior. He also returned kicks and played wide receiver. He was named All-State, All-Conference, All-Area and All-County. He was also selected Most Valuable Defensive Back and team captain.

Etowah defeated Oxford 69-63 in 1991 to set a state record for most points scored by both teams in a playoff game.
