Goode led Hazlewood to three straight state championships during his high school career. As a senior he ran for 1,894 yards on 161 carries (11.8 avg.) and scored 32 touchdowns. Goode set a single season state record by scoring 233 points as a senior. For his career, he rushed for 4,747 yards (9.3 avg.) and set another state record by scoring 85 touchdowns. He also was good on 35 of 42 extra point tries and ran for three two-point conversion.
Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
The Tuscaloosa Black Bears were considered one of the best programs in the nation from 1925-1931. Their record over that span was an amazing 61-0-3.
