High School Bio:
Hugh Thomas Danner was a two-sport letterman at Tuscaloosa. He played on the 1949 Black Bears team that won a state championship as named by the Alabama Journal. Danner was named to the 1948 and 1949 All-State teams, was selected to the Wigwam Wiseman All-American squad, the All-Southern Team and played in the Alabama All-Star game as a senior. He was Tuscaloosa High School Football Captain 1950, Track Captain 1951, All County Football Team 1949 and 1950, State Champion Discus 1950 and 1951 (state record holder), State Champion Shot Put 1951 (state record holder) and Alabama-Georgia Discus Champion 1950 and 1951 (Record holder).

In 1969 the two point conversion was adopted for play following a touchdown. Until that time all conversions were worth one point.
