Coleman rushed for 5,592 yards on 768 carried during his career at Pike County. He set a state record with his 66 touchdowns rushing and 12 more on punt returns. He also scored six on kickoff returns, three on pass reception, one off an interception and two fumble returns giving him a total of 90 touchdowns and a new state record. He also accounted for 8,465 all-purpose yards during his four year career. As a senior he ran for 2,251 yards and as a junior scored 34 touchdowns.
