High School Bio:
Russell left behind a legacy at Williamson before moving on to L.S.U. He is the states all-time career leader in almost every passing category. He threw for 10,744 yards in his five year career at Williamson. He was a four year starter and completed 219 of 372 passes for 3,332 yards and 22 touchdowns while running for another 400 yards and five scores his senior year. As a junior he passes for 1,850 yards and 17 touchdowns. As a freshman he completed 180 of 324 passes for 2,683 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
Homewood defeated Benjamin Russell in five overtimes during the Class 5A Super Six state championship game in 2000.
