            He was voted Player of the Week, Most Valuable Player on the 1952 team, All-State, Mr. Touchdown at Woodlawn, All-City and Best High School Passer to perform at Legion Field in 1952. He completed 30 of 59 passes for 520 yards in six games.

Hazlewood won five consecutive state championships from 1988-1992. During this span the Golden Bears won 29 playoff games in a row.
