 High School Bio:

            Walter Karr, a tackle from West Blocton made the Post Herald and Birmingham News All-State squad for football and also played baseball and basketball. Walter was coached by Norris Higginbotham and played three years of varsity football, serving as the 1953 captain.




Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

The Super 6 State Championships began in 1996. Since then all title games were played at Legion Field in Birmingham until 2009.
