Landon Darty, was named All-County in football in 1952-53 and All-County in baseball in 1953. In addition to these athletic honors, he played in the All Star baseball game and was honorable mention on the All-State football team. Landon played baseball, basketball and offensive and defensive line on the football team.
Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
