 High School Bio:

Clay Walls was an outstanding all round athlete from McAdory High. This Bessemer lad took honors in all the sports - in football he made All-State, honorable mention All-American and All-County, and in basketball he took All-District honors. This accounts for Clay being voted the best all-round athlete at McAdory and most valuable back in the county. Not content with leading the field in these sports, Clay holds the state record (22.4) in the 220 yard dash track event. L.C. Garner coached this record breaking quarterback.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

In 1969 the two point conversion was adopted for play following a touchdown. Until that time all conversions were worth one point.
