 High School Bio:

            Wilbur Supple, a right halfback from Hayneville chalked up an enviable list of athletic honors in four years. Captain of the football team for two years; All-State class A two years; four letters in football. four letters in basketball; and four letters in baseball. Wilburs specialty was runner, blocker, pass receiver, and extra points. His grid statistics include 22 touchdowns and 13 extra points in the 1955 season. John T. Jones, coached this boy from Hayneville. He captained the Blue Devils to a 9-1 record in 1954.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
