            Jimmy Sanderson, a basketball, baseball, and football halfback from Hamilton High School played varsity football two years, chalking up to his credit 32 touchdowns, making 20 of these in the 1954 season, and gaining over 2,000 yards in rushing.

Foley outscored their opponents 433-6 in 1961. The Lions were named state champions by the Alabama Sports Writers Association that season.
