            Norton earned five football letters and five baseball letters. 1954- 55 scored 18 touchdowns, ran 8 extra points; outstanding football player of school 1955- 56. ether sports; baseball (pitcher), won four games, and lost one 1955; won one lost none 1,956. He played five years of varsity football. Captain of squad in 1954-55 and 1955-56. His specialty was up the middle. Grid statistics - averaged 6 yards per rush 1954- 55 - 116 points. 87 yards per game; averaged 4 yards per rush 1955- 56. 69 points - 72 yards per game.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

In 1969 the two point conversion was adopted for play following a touchdown. Until that time all conversions were worth one point.
