 High School Bio:

            Shoemaker was named All-City two years, honorable mention All-State 1956, All-State 1957. He played varsity football four years, was captain as a senior, and played basketball, baseball and track ran 61 times for 359 yards and a 509-yards average. He caught nine passes for 183 yards and a 20.75 yard average. He returned six punts for 179 yards and a 29.7 yard average and seven kickoffs for 197 yards and a 28 yard average.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Bart Starr received coaching from Kentucky great Babe Parilli his senior season at Sidney Lanier in hopes of joining Bear Bryant at Kentucky. He had to settle for Alabama.
