LaBoone was named All-State, Most Valuable on team; He played varsity football six years, lettering five, served as captain, and starred in basketball. He specialized in kicking -- punts, conversions and field goals. He carried ill times for 1020 yards in nine games last Fall, punted 18 times for a 41.2 average, and scored 13 touchdowns and 18 extra points for 96 points.
Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
The Tuscaloosa Black Bears were considered one of the best programs in the nation from 1925-1931. Their record over that span was an amazing 61-0-3.
