            Weeks was named Most Valuable Player on team, Star of Week, All-State in basketball. He played varsity football three years, handled the punting, averaged more than five yards per carry and scored nine touchdowns last season. He also performed in baseball and track as well as basketball.

Foley outscored their opponents 433-6 in 1961. The Lions were named state champions by the Alabama Sports Writers Association that season.
