 High School Bio:

            Thomas was named Andalusia Most Valuable Player in 1957; winner of scholastic trophies on Junior and Bee teams in eight and ninth grades. He played varsity football four years, was captain as a senior, and was kickoff man.

The first football game played by a high school team in Alabama was in 1892 when Central Birmingham (Phillips) lost to Alabama 56-0 on November 11.
