 High School Bio:

            Barnes was named All-County, All-State, Most Valuable Lineman on team, Most Valuable Lineman in Jefferson County. He also played basketball and track. He shined on offense and defense as his team posted 7-2-1 record and scored 27 touchdowns as a senior. A three-year regular.

The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
