Ogle was named All-Tennessee Valley Conference two years, Second team All-State in 1957, All-State and Honorable Mention All-America in 1958. He also lettered three times in track and starred in basketball. He was named All-Tennessee Valley Conference in 1956 and All-Morgan County and All-District the last two seasons. He played varsity football four years, captained the team and perfected the roll-out play. As a senior, he gained some 700 yards rushing, returned two kickoffs 90 yards each for touchdowns and averaged about 25 yards per kickoff return. Son of his coach Shorty Ogle.
